Voters in six states will face minimum wage initiatives that seek to keep minimum wage below the poverty level through 2012. Congress is also reviewing a raise to the Federal Minimum Wage, which seeks to remove States’ rights to have higher minimum wage laws. This last piece is a radical departure from the history of the Fair Labor Standards Act, according to the Brennan Center for Justice at New York School of Law.
